Manukin/Baran Wedding 05.24.08

This past weekend was a bit chaotic for us! We shot a wedding Friday night in Columbus, then drove to St. Clairsville to shoot a wedding all day Saturday. Busy busy! But it was so much fun and well worth the chaos. I haven't quite finished editing all of the photos from either wedding but here are some of my favorites from Saturday's events.

The bride and groom drove off on a Harley! They were so much fun!

This was my first attempt at shooting the "jumping shot"...I think they turned out good! The whole bridal party was so full of energy. Check out the groomsman all the way to the left and the Maid of Honor, to the right of the bride, talk about getting some air!!!

I wasn't sure about this one, it may be a little dark, but I think it is quiet and romantic.

I told the couple to just walk together until I told them to stop, they were so adorable and kept looking at each other and smiling.

This one was taken just as you would enter a long tunnel. I think the black and white edit makes the photo just about them and not their background, which makes this shot even more dynamic.

I love this one, it is one of my favorites. The tunnel behind them is so dramatic and historic, which demonstrates the bond of their unity.

Silhouette of the kiss! I love how they are both in white, if the groom was in a tradition tux, this shot would not be nearly as effective.

Please feel free to leave your comments!
I appreciate hearing back from you.

Reception Fun!

After all of the spring cleaning, I did a lot of editing of a lot of old photos and I found some fun reception shots that really capture the personality of the bride and groom...as well as some feisty bridesmaids!! The shots below are very candid and a ton of fun!

I don't like it when the bride and groom smash cake on each other's faces, but this couple did a great job of getting the point across without getting too messy and they looked adorable doing it!

This set of sisters was really battling over the bouquet! This battle continued for several minutes, believe it or not and they ended up wrestling on the floor!! Hilarious!

This couple had fun without smashing cake on each other...I think it is cute how both their eyes are closed, like they are really enjoying the cake!

The dance! The groom picked up the bride and swung her around...very fun...kind of blurry, but I thought it was fun!

This groom loved the icing!! This couple was full of personality, this is the same groom in the photo with the groomsman with the garter!!

Spring Cleaning of Sorts.

I have spent today doing a sort of spring cleaning of my photos! As I am trying to expand my website and the depth of my work that is displayed there, I have gone back to weddings I shot nearly 4 years ago and spent some time with post-process. When I shot these weddings, I was just starting out and I didn't have the software that I do now, so I wanted to take a few of my favorites that I knew had potential and re-work them a little! Here are the results!

The bubbles in this are amazing, the crowd really did a great job getting them going before the bride and groom came outside!

I'm absolutely in love with this one! To me it really demonstrates what marriage is truly about. I love how dramatic it is and how the only thing that you can see is the couple and the cross.

To me, this ceremony shot captures a lot of different emotions; the priest blessing the couple, the couple joining hands in a new unity and their family and friends on-looking with love and support.

This was from one of the first few weddings I photographed and with some additional post-process I was able to capture a nice silhouette of the bride getting ready.

Cracks me up! This groomsman was so excited about catching the garter, I'm glad I captured his true expression!

Fun shoot at the park!

This past weekend my husband and I were in Columbus and I had a photo shoot scheduled with one of my favorite little ones...Amanda! We were supposed to go out Saturday morning but the weather was terrible and we opted to wait until Sunday to see if the skies would clear...and boy did they ever...it was gorgeous outside. So we headed out to my favorite park in Reynoldsburg and played around and managed to get some really genuine smiles. Amanda was the flower girl in my wedding and is now eight years old and absolutely adorable! I think I'm biased because I know and love her but these photos were too cute not to share!

This one is a classic but I thought it was too cute not to share!

For this shot I told her to wait on the steps and that I had to test the light, meanwhile we were talking and laughing and I managed to get this genuine smile out of her!

I love the angle of this one!

I think this one looks like a fairy tale, I again told her that I was testing the light, only this time I wasn't talking to her, just walking around "testing the light" She must have heard something but her face is priceless!

Who knew that hugging a tree could look this adorable!

I thought her back pockets on her jeans were adorable, so I had to get a close up!

These two are my favorites of the shoot! I love how natural she looks and how incredibly adorable her smile is!! I think the stairs added an interesting dynamic to the background.

Let me know what you guys think! Am I biased or is she just adorable? Which one is your favorite?
